Sacramental Requirements


Sacrament of Baptism

Regulations for Baptism

  • Offered for Infants to 7 year olds.
  • Be registered members of either St. Mary Catholic Church or another Catholic Church for at least three months prior to the Baptism.
  • Attend a Baptism Prep Interview with a Fr. Hilton.
  • Attend a Baptism Prep Class for parents and godparents.
  • Call Father Hilton 970-925-7339 to schedule an interview.

  • Sacrament of Reconciliation & First Holy Communion

    Requirements for Reconciliation and 1st Communion

  • Open to children from 2nd through 6th grade.
  • Must be baptized in the Catholic Church.
  • Two-year program. Your child attends with you the Family Faith Formation evenings for two years. During the first year, the basic foundations of their Faith will be covered. During the second year, your child will be prepared for the reception of their First Confession and First Holy Communion.
  • Parents must participate in all of the Family Faith Formation evenings.

  • Open to young people from 7th grade through high school.
  • Must be baptized in the Catholic Church. (Please let us know if they have not made their First Confession or received their First Holy Communion.)
  • Two-year program. During the first year young people will participate in the Family Faith Formation evenings. During the second year, in addition to their normal Family Faith Formation studies, there will be a particular emphasis placed upon preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation through special classes, retreats and service projects.
  • Parents must participate in all of the Family Faith Formation evenings.

  • Sacrament of Holy Matrimony

    Detailed Marriage Requirements

    Marriages need to be arranged at least eight to twelve months in advance due to the meaningful preparation required. In accord with the directive of the National Conference of Bishops, no outdoor weddings may be performed. All weddings are to take place at the parish church of St. Mary's.


    Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults

    The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (often abbreviated RCIA) is the process through which interested adults and older children are introduced to the Roman Catholic faith and initiated into the Sacramental Life.
